Our Story

The Ahmad family has always believed the best conversations and moments are made over food. Farid Ahmad, founder of Lonzo’s states his father would even go as far as to say, conflicts within political parties in their country have been solved over food. He breaks it down into the three stages. Before the food is presented, the aromas that fill the air would balance the tension between political parties, while eating the flavours of the food is what unites them, bringing harmony, and finally with full and satisfied bellies is when the ears and tongues would work best during such conversation.

When my family immigrated to Canada from Afghanistan, we immediately fell in love with western cuisine. I always caught my mouth watering from the aromas down the busy streets of Toronto. Unfortunately, for the most part we could not taste much of the food, since halal food options were so scarce. That is when my father had decided to use his earnings to open his own restaurant in Toronto, offering the city a halal western cuisine option, as he founded our parent company City Fried Chicken in 2005. He opened a successful business with the intention of building community and the amazing memories he carries with him today.

Fast forward more than a decade later, Lonzo’s KItchen was established expanding to a new menu but keeping the same mission and values. When you eat at Lonzo’s, there is no doubt that the first thing you will notice is the dazzling aromas of our in-house flavours. You taste the quality within your first bite, whether it be from the juiciness of our meat options to the freshness of our veggies. Lonzo’s Kitchen is where fast food meets quality food.

Our Vision

We want to set a new standard of quality within the fast food industry. 

A lot of fast food places use the lowest grade and cheapest ingredients approved by the FDA in order to increase their profits. We know that we count on fast food to provide us with convenience when on a time crunch and to bring people together when wanting to share delicious experiences. 

Lonzo’s Kitchen wants to limit a society full of dietary induced health problems by putting our community first and that is by making fast food quality food. At the end of the day, top grade ingredients just taste better.

We hope to bring our standard of fast food globally and have our signature flavours distinguishable everywhere you need. We want to become the go-to western food chain in the world and give back to the communities that we are so grateful for being a part of.
